Friends of Dibor

The Friends of Dibor Roberts are men and women from throughout Sedona, Cottonwood and the Verde Valley area, who have supported Dibor since she was arrested and her story was published in local media. Her supporters expressed concern that this could happen to any woman on a dark road at night - our sisters, daughters, mothers, ourselves. What would we do in the same situation? The Friends of Dibor Roberts strongly believe that a woman should be able to get to a lighted area for her safety and that of the officer.

The Friends of Dibor Roberts have actively shown their support in the following ways:

1. Attended all hearings and the trial to show that the community was concerned about women's safety and the example that this case was setting.

2. Attended the January 17 press conference called by Sheriff Waugh. Unfortunately he did not have his facts about the case correct and he contradicted the arresting officer's report and the witness' report. Read about it on Sedona.biz.

2. Wrote letters to the editors of the local newspapers in order to get the right information into the public domain.

3. Hosted a rally on May 4 to help raise money for Dibor's defense and to continue to educate members of the public about the facts of the case.

4. Launched "A Woman's Right to Light" campaign to get legislation passed to ensure the safety of all women in the State of Arizona. Arizona can then be a model for the rest of the U.S. Sign the petition.

5. The Friends of Dibor will continue to support her in her appeal and many have contributed financially to help her.
